Man found dead inside house in Sicelo, Meyerton

An unidentified man collapsed and died inside a Sicelo home after running in from the street with a fatal head wound.

MEYERTON – Police have launched a murder investigation after the body of an unknown man was discovered inside a house in Sicelo, Meyerton, on Saturday afternoon.

According to police spokesperson Constable Nompumelelo Zazini, officers responded to a complaint at around 16:45 regarding a possible murder in Tyelentombi Street.

“On arrival, police found the body of an unknown black male lying on the floor inside the house. He had sustained a head injury and was already deceased,” said Zazini.

Preliminary information suggests that the man had run into the house from the street while already injured. “It appears the door was open, and the man collapsed inside the house, where he died,” Zazini explained.

The deceased, who remains unidentified, was wearing black jeans and a blue lumber shirt, and was barefoot at the time. The exact location where he sustained his injury is still unknown.

“No arrests have been made at this stage, and the motive for the attack remains unclear. Investigations are continuing,” Zazini confirmed.

Members of the Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC), as well as pathology services, attended the scene. The case is being investigated by a detective from Meyerton SAPS.

Zazini appealed to members of the public to assist police in identifying the deceased or providing any information that could help trace the suspect or clarify the circumstances of the incident.

Anyone with information can contact the Meyerton Police Station or call Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
