SEDIBENG.- At last, local soccer fans will see the Kaizer Chiefs Reserve team in action in their backyard when they take on Sekhukhune United in the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) match.

This DDC fixture is scheduled to take place at the Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbijlpark on February 28.

Kick-off time is at 12:00.

The last time Amakhosi babies were expected to take a short trip to the Vaal, it didn’t materialise as the PSL hosted the DDC festival games in Durban, much to the disappointment of local soccer fans who were looking forward to this fixture.

Sedibeng Ster Sport hopes this will not be the case again.

Back to the game, this is going to be an interesting fixture considering the fact that both teams are desperate for maximum points for several reasons.

For example, Sekhukhune United aims to move into the top eight bracket while Amakhosi, who happen to be the defending champions, are also desperate to defend their title.

The Chiefs find themselves blowing hot and cold this season.

They are no longer the same team that was crowned the DDC champions last season. As things stand, Orlando Pirates FC is sitting nicely at the top of the table with Mamelodi Sundowns second on the log.
