D8 Winter Ball Games selection for primary schools

“Today we are here to select our D8 team that will represent us at the district championships."

SEBOKENG.- Primary schools from the Sedibeng West District, also known as D8, gathered at the Saul Tsotetsi Sports Centre on Saturday to compete in the Winter Ball Volleyball Games.

The tournament aimed to select both boys’ and girls’ volleyball teams to represent the D8 District in the upcoming District Championship.

Despite a chilly morning, the primary schools turned out in large numbers to participate.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, D8 sports official Nkoali Botsane explained that the games were crucial for choosing the squad that will compete in the District Championship this coming weekend. The upcoming championship will feature a wide range of sports, including boys’ and girls’ teams for football, hockey, volleyball, rugby, and chess, as well as netball.

Botsane told Sedibeng Ster Sport that he was impressed with the performance of the participating schools. He noted that the district is eagerly anticipating the weekend’s big event.

“Today we are here to select our D8 team that will represent us at the district championships, and I must say, we are looking forward. I was happy to see teachers pushing their respective schools. You can see they came well-prepared for these Winter Ball Games,” he said.

The event enjoyed a fantastic atmosphere, with pupils loudly cheering on their classmates and school teams throughout the matches.
