EVATON.- Tinya Sports Foundation hosted a successful Annual Youth 16 Tournament at Evaton Mall this past Sunday.
This was the third year this non-profit organisation hosted the tournament as part of giving back to the community through acts of service and support that impact where it matters most.

In 2020, this foundation focused on using sport as a tool for youth development and community upliftment.
Over the years, they have celebrated Youth Month by hosting a Five-Aside Senior Soccer Tournament at Evaton Mall Soccer Park, bringing together players, supporters, and the community through the games.

This year, the final featured KR55 FC, against Amaroto FC.
Amaroto were crowned champions and received a soccer kit, trophy, medals, and R5 000 for their effort.
Speaking toSedibeng Ster Sport, Sydwell ‘Sheane’ Maake, who is the founder of Tinya Sports Wear and Tinya Sports Foundation, said this initiative is designed to allow young athletes and local teams to compete, grow and showcase their talent on a bigger stage.
He hailed this tournament as a great success, with the community coming in numbers to support this initiative.

He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that they host the Tinya Sports Day every first week of October, featuring junior U17 Emfuleni Champ of Champs.

“Look, our involvement in the community involves many projects, such as Mandela Day, to give back through sports activities,” he concluded.
