VANDERBIJLPARK – Young local squash star Sine Dlamini has earned a prestigious call-up to the Squash South Africa National U14 High Performance Camp.

The intensive five-day camp is set to take place at High Tuks Squash at the University of Pretoria from September 23 to 28.

The upcoming camp builds directly on the baseline results achieved through the National Testing Programme.

The exciting news was shared with Sedibeng Ster Sport by Sine’s father, Hero Hlamini. This latest milestone follows Dlamini securing a spot in the Squash South Africa U15 Top 10 rankings for 2026.

It is a remarkable achievement for the youngster, who began playing the sport at a very early age. Choosing a path different from her peers, she was determined to make a name for herself in the sport and is now well on her way to becoming a household name in South African squash.

According to her father, the upcoming camp builds directly on the baseline results achieved through the National Testing Programme. During the camp, a top-tier team of qualified and experienced high-performance coaches will put the players through specialised drills, routines, and rigorous physical conditioning.

Dlamini expressed that Sine is eager to seize this opportunity with both hands. Having watched his daughter grow up playing the sport, he is fully convinced she will do Sedibeng proud. Reflecting on her journey, her father admitted he never imagined she would one day be rated among the best squash players in the country.

“This is reward of hard work, and I’m very proud of her because she wanted this so much. My role is to support her to make her dreams come true. What I like is that she doesn’t neglect her studies. She understands that she must balance her school work and sport,” said Dlamini.
