UPDATE: Broken boundary wall still unattended

The broken section of the wall will be fixed by the relevant municipal department in due course.

Five weeks after the Sun reported on Amanzimtoti Country Club (ACC) members’ and visitors’ disgust at the continued mess caused by late night revellers and passer-bys, the club’s broken boundary wall has still not been repaired by eThekwini Municipality.
The Sun first contacted the municipality about the problem on Wednesday, 14 January, but only received a response on Tuesday, 17 February.

eThekwini Head of Communications, Tozi Mthethwa said there was no refuse at the site of the broken wall and there was no health risk, although the Sun has photographic evidence to the contrary.

“The broken section of the wall will be fixed by the relevant municipal department in due course,” said Mthethwa.
“In the meantime, Metro Police officers will patrol the area to ensure safety at the country club until the wall is fixed.”
