Toti shows love for first-time-at-the-coast foster children

We thank the sponsors, as well as the volunteers.

A local non-profit organisation brightened up Easter this year for a group of visiting foster children.

Amanzimtoti Cares is focused on helping families in crisis in the Toti community, however, in exceptional cases they reach beyond, like during this Easter break when children from Cornerstone Foster Home in Brits visited Toti.

“Most of these children had never seen the sea before,” said Amanzimtoti Cares founder, Edna Blom. “We arranged with Gone Riding, a horse riding school in Toti, for them to spend the day there on Friday, 3 April. Nicola Butler and her team went out of their way to make the day memorable.”

Elna Bogaard of Bee’s Catering prepared food for the young visitors supplied by Bruce Houghting and his family, and Kingsway High School donated Easter eggs, which were used for an egg hunt.

“We thank the sponsors, as well as the volunteers who helped to make this day a huge success,” said Edna.

“The Toti community also banded together to help entertain the children for the rest of their holiday and they were very grateful for the hospitality.”
