Join anxiety group’s Facebook Friday chat

It is a chance to connect with psychiatrists to answer all your medication-related queries.

MANY South Africans are prescribed medication for depression, bipolar, anxiety, panic and a variety of other mental illnesses every day.

However, sometimes they are not informed about what they can expect, what they are being used for, what are the side effects or how long will they be taking it.

The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) will host a Facebook chat on Friday, 12 June from 1pm to 2pm with psychiatrists Dr Mashadi Motlana and Dr Helen Clarke and from 7pm to 8pm with psychiatrist Dr Sheldon Zilesnick who will be live on Facebook to answer all your medication-related queries.

To log in, simply go to www.sadag.org and follow the link, or go directly to the Facebook page “The South African Depression and Anxiety Group”.

If you cannot join the chat at the specified time, or if you would like to remain anonymous, send your questions to admin@anxiety.org or SMS “Facebook” and your question to 31393 and they will be posted for you for the doctors will answer your questions.

If you are on medication and have questions about your treatment but aren’t sure who to ask, this is your chance. SADAG’s Facebook Friday chat is one more way the organisation is bringing education and
awareness to the public.

“It’s vital for your long-term well-being and health that you can access information regarding treatment,” said SADAG’s Cassey Chamber.
For more information on the chat, or to speak to a SADAG counsellor today, call on the toll-free helpline 0800-21-22-23, or visit our website, www.sadag.org for more info.
