Washing machine woes turn to wows

Deon is over 1.8 metres tall and I am not quite 1.5 metres now, but I could hug this charming young man ‘stukkend’.

EDITOR – This is to tell other disappointed users of electronic washing machines and similar appliance that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

After 23 years of having a wonderful washing machine, ‘she’ showed signs of rust.

So I bought a new machine and unfortunately this machine washed but stopped dead just before the last rinse and spin cycle. So back to where I purchased it, but because I have used it (six unfinished washes in all) they said I could not have my money back. I understand this but after a long discussion, they offered to call in a mechanic to have a look. And along came Deon.

What a jewel, he apologised for being a few minutes late – I’m going on for 85 and nearly did a backward flip. And what is more, he believed me when I told him how ‘she’ behaved. He tried all the programmes and agreed ‘we have a problem’. He opened the lid and found one of the very tiniest wires had come adrift, put it back and the machine was fixed. Then he asked me to put in a load of washing and waited the 28 minutes for the cycle to finish.

Deon is over 1.8 metres tall and I am not quite 1.5 metres now, but I could hug this charming young man ‘stukkend’. Thank you to all the Deons out there.
