ARMED robbers stole a large amount of cash in a hold-up at Woolworths at Seadoone Mall on Saturday, 5 September at about 7.20am.
“Staff members were busy off-loading a delivery truck when they were approached by three men armed with guns. The staff and driver were forced into the cash office,” said Toti SAPS communications officer, Capt Charlene van der Spuy.
“Two of the robbers entered the general office and forced the manager to open the safe. They took R46,000 and fled.”
The getaway vehicle could not be determined. No-one sustained injuries nor were any shots fired.
“It is alleged the robbers cut a wire connected to the surveillance camera and also removed the tape.”
A case of business robbery is being investigated by the Toti detectives.
