Genet found in Toti euthanased
It had sustained serious injuries around its ribcage and chest.

A GENET found in Toti on Friday, 2 October had to be euthanased earlier this week due to the injuries it had sustained.
“The genet was found by a member of the public, who took him to Toti SPCA on Monday morning, 5 October. They in turn contacted the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW). The genet was examined by Dr Max Taylor of Northdene Veterinary Clinic and X-rays were taken.
Unfortunately the X-rays revealed numerous breaks around the genet’s ribcage and chest and a decision was made to humanely euthanase him to end his suffering,” said CROW marketing and communications officer, Paul Hoyte.
“We cannot say for certain what happened to this genet. Of late, we have been rescuing numerous genets that have been hit by cars on our roads and attacked by dogs and cats when passing through domestic gardens.”
