Stolen brushcutter retrieved

CCPO, Blue Security and ET Rapid Response vehicles joined in the search.

A stolen bushcutter was recovered and returned to its owner after a thief managed to flee from response officers in Dan Pienaar Drive on Monday afternoon, 7 March.

According to Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) committee member, George Snodey, the thief jumped into a yard and stole the bushcutter at about 1pm.

A description of the thief was circulated on the CCPO radio and CCPO, Blue Security and ET Rapid Response vehicles joined in the search.

“CCPO’s Wayne Smerdon received information on the last place the thief was spotted and conducted a search of the Moss Kolnik Road area near the railway bridge,” said Snodey.

“The bushcutter was found under an old carpet, but unfortunately the thief had disappeared.
