Heartwarming Hospice visit galvanises med students
The students visited the local Hospice to take note of the good work the organisation's nursing staff are doing.

Seventeen fifth year medical students from the UKZN Medical school in Pietermaritzburg visited Khanya Hospice on Thursday, 4 May.
As part of their curriculum, they visited the local Hospice to take note of the good work the organisation’s nursing staff are doing.
Hospice offers free palliative nursing care to people with life threatening diseases and support to their families. UKZN saw this as a learning curve for the medical students. They were given the opportunity to see first-hand what is happening in the homes of the terminally ill and how people and families are affected by cancer, HIV Aids and TB.
“The students felt welcomed when the staff of Khanya Hospice showed their hospitality,” said CEO of Khanya Hospice, Neil McDonald.
