Lovu is underway
JERRY Zuma, his wife Mildred and their baby Freedom, were handed the first title deeds for a home at Lovu housing development.
It was the official opening of the show village which offers 3 900 housing opportunities. It was history in the making. When the plan was first mooted in 1991 for a housing development in the area for 80 000, officials met with much opposition. Peter Miller, minister of Local Government and Housing, KwaZulu-Natal, congratulated the Zumas on the acquisition of their own home. He thanked show house builders for ‘taking the risk’ to put up houses. Many were testing the market with new products.
