Suspected Toti thieves arrested on the M1

They were intercepted near Lamontville.

SWIFT work by SAPS and ET Rapid Response, saw three suspects get arrested on Tuesday, February 15 for a theft that occurred in Amanzimtoti.

In a statement, ET Rapid Response said the arrest happened on the M1 highway.

“On Tuesday at about 13:00, information was received regarding a vehicle which was used in a theft from a truck in Amanzimtoti which was traveling along the N2 south bound. Law enforcement officers managed to intercept the suspects’ vehicle along the M1 freeway before Lamontville,” read the statement.

After the suspects were arrested, the police found two 12V car batteries, various tools, a reflective jacket and gloves.

The police also recovered the vehicle used in the commission of the crime. The suspects were detained at Amanzimtoti SAPS and will appear in court soon.
