Amanzimtoti CPF celebrates senior citizens

Security companies and the Amanzimtoti Community Police Forum visited a Warner Beach old age home to entertain the residents and bless them with gifts.

AS PART of its community outreach programme and in honour of local retirees, the Amanzimtoti Community Police Forum (ACPF), in collaboration with the SAPS Spiritual Crime Forum, Usizo-Lomndeni.org, and other stakeholders, paid a heartwarming visit to an old age home in Warner Beach to celebrate World Senior Citizens Day.

The team arrived bearing gifts and food for the seniors, offering a day of warmth, care and recognition. World Senior Citizens Day, observed annually on August 21, serves to raise awareness about the challenges faced by older adults, including health decline and elder abuse.

Merlene Matthew, chairperson of the ACPF, delivered an inspiring message of hope and belonging, while the rest of the team shared valuable safety tips and service-related information with the residents.

“This day not only provided an opportunity to connect with the elderly but also served as a poignant reminder of the value and dignity of every individual, regardless of age,” the ACPF said in a statement.
