SPCA fundraiser hits the right notes at Seadoone Mall

South African Music Award-nominated singer Rob Rodell entertained shoppers with his euphonic voice to commemorate World Animal Day.

SHOPPERS at Seadoone Mall were treated to the melodic voice of South African Music Award-nominated singer Rob Rodell during the SPCA Amanzimtoti fundraising event on October 5.

Rodell said the SPCA has not had it easy this year, which is why he decided to help raise the much-needed funds. By singing for the animals’ supper, he was also commemorating World Animal Day, which is observed on October 4.

“Our beloved local SPCA has been in the wars this year with stolen vehicles and a shortage of funds. This is the least we could do to help our four-legged fur babies. Mind you, the SPCA also looks out for winged creatures, and of course, they do wonders for us two-legged souls,” he said.

Rodell graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree at Unisa in 2023 and won the Ollie’s Battle of the Voices karaoke competition in 2022.
