Help find missing Doon Heights man

Jan Els vanished from his home earlier today and left what is assumed to be a suicide note. His whereabouts are unknown at this stage.

JAN Els (59) of Doon Heights has been missing since around 07:00 this morning (November 19) and people are asked to help locate him.

According to a Facebook post, Jan was wearing blue overalls and a black collar t-shirt when he left this morning and his family thought he was going to work.

“When his son opened the garage door just after 12:00, he saw that all the cars were there and found a letter from Jan in which he said that he loved them all but could not take it anymore. His daughter(27) died suddenly last December and he has been struggling to process her death. He has had suicidal tendencies before where his daughter got hold of him in time,” read the post.

Jan left the car and house keys as well as his bank cards in the postbox at home. An extensive search has not revealed his whereabouts.
