High temperature warning: stay hydrated

Take care in the exceedingly hot and humid weather that is forecast for this area and be sensible by hydrating often.

WITH temperatures expected to hit the high 30s, ALS Paramedics urge everyone to take extra precautions.

According to a statement, humidity levels will push the temperatures even higher, to over 40 degree Celsius.

To ensure everybody stays safe, ALS has issued a few tips:

* Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water or nutrient-rich drinks.

*Stay cool: Avoid prolonged sun exposure; seek shade or air-conditioned spaces.

* Care for the vulnerable groups: Ensure the elderly, children and pets stay hydrated and cool.

* Work smart: If working outdoors, take regular breaks and stay hydrated.

Heatstroke signs:

* Dizziness

* Nausea

* Disorientation

* Fainting
