After taking the leap and submitting her application to be a part of the pageant, Swart hopes for genuine empowerment, personal transformation and the ability to make a lasting impact during her journey.

The Doonside resident attended Kuswag Skool, and is self-employed, specialising in eyelash extensions and nails in her beauty salon. She said that she enjoys helping women feel beautiful in their own skin. Swart has been happily married and explained that her loving husband of three years has been supporting her throughout her journey. She has a handsome one-year-old boy who she adores spending time with.

“Becoming a Mrs South Africa semi-finalist is a dream come true as this now enables me to use the prestigious platform to inspire young and old to embrace self-love and understand that each imperfection makes you unique and beautiful in your own way,” said Nadene.

The pageant prides itself on its purpose to equip women with hands-on leadership and communication skills. Through public speaking workshops, brand-building sessions and mentorship, the participants are given the tools to discover their inner confidence and amplify their voices as forces for positive change.

“Beauty has always been one of my passions, competing in numerous pageants such as Miss Ambassador KZN & Model of KZN to name a few. Just being myself is beautiful enough and all women deserve to feel this way,” said Swart.

The pageant’s steady growth over the past few years has motivated the executive team to further extend their efforts to support the many women who want to participate. Joani Jacob, CEO of Mrs South Africa, explained, “This is your year to step into your power – own your inner strength and let your voice be heard.”

Swart recently had the opportunity to meet the reigning Mrs South Africa, and added, “She is absolutely radiant and so inspiring to other women, doing all this while also being a wife and a mother at the same time.”

Shortly after the casting events, semi-finalists participated in their first workshop weekend, where mentors and experts from a variety of fields coached them on various vital skills. Later in the year, contestants will participate in several charity events, upskilling sessions, and professional shoots before the event culminates in the grand finale in November.
