Man shot dead in Malagazi

A dispute turned deadly on Postum Road when a man was allegedly shot and killed by men claiming to be police officers.

A DISAGREEMENT turned bloody in Malagazi after a man was allegedly shot dead by police officers on Postum Road, Malagazi, on April 27.

The man, Musawenkosi Michael Gabela, was shot and killed after trying to help his mother in a disagreement with an ex-tenant of hers.

Pam Gabela, who was at home at the time of the incident, said a group of men allegedly announced they were police officers before attacking her brother. He was shot and Pam explained that her mother was arrested for intervening.

The Isipingo police have been approached for comment. Updates to follow.
