Edu Paw dealt devastating blow at start of 2026
Non-profit organisation Edu Paw's year has gotten off to a rough start, with its offices being broken into and supplies stolen.
THE NEW Year has gotten off to a heartbreaking start for animal-centric NPO Edu Paw after facilitator Nomfundo Luthuli returned to find that the NPO’s office container was broken into over the festive period.

It has proven to be a devasting blow, with doors, windows and security bars smashed, and worse still, everything Edu Paw needs to start classes for the year was stolen.
Luthuli and Edu Paw’s dedicated team of volunteers, however, are undeterred and remain committed to what lies at the heart of the organisation, teaching children basic canine care and nurturing a lifelong love and compassion for animals.
Founder Cathy Keegan has made an appeal to Edu Paw’s supporters.
“Our hearts are heavy and we honestly do not know where to turn, but we do know the strength of our Edu Paw family. We are making a heartfelt appeal to our supporters to share this message far and wide and if you are able, to help us rebuild. Our most urgent need is to secure the container by replacing windows, door locks, security bars and gates. Once this is done, we will need to replenish what was taken,” said Keegan.
The NPO is in need of the following to start classes:
- Collars and leashes
- Dog blankets and jackets
- Adult and puppy food
