“We are holding a community clean-up project where every month, on a Sunday, we will be out clearing the bushes, gravel and any unsightly clutter. We are inviting volunteers of the community to help make Illovo respectable again,” he said.

Gounden said volunteers do not have to do physical labour; instead, they can contribute by making snacks, picking up litter or even getting their gardeners to help out.

Security companies will be helping with traffic on the main road where bushes will be cleared. The meeting place will be at the green tuckshop in Sportsville, Lower Illovo.
