The club’s chairperson, Barry Walker, said the annual event aimed to collect donations, including sweets and toiletries for the home’s residents. He said the weather was ideal for cycling and all 22 riders completed their routes safely, ending the morning with camaraderie and the satisfaction of contributing to a worthy cause.

“The cyclists split into two groups: the Roadies and the Mountain Bike (MTB) riders. Both groups departed from the clubhouse, heading south. The Roadies cycled to Scottburgh, while the MTB riders turned back at Umkomaas. Upon their return, participants enjoyed coffee and a delicious bacon-and-egg roll, celebrating the success of their ride,” said Walker.

All donations were then delivered to the Jona Vaughan Home.

Upcoming Christmas Lights Ride

Cyclists are reminded that the next club event will take place on December 12 at 18:00, starting at the clubhouse. The ride will tour Warner Beach and Amanzimtoti to admire the festive Christmas lights. Cyclists should remember to have a headlight and tail light.

After the ride participants can look forward to a boerie roll. This event will support the Amanzimtoti SPCA.
