Bam said she entered after choosing to step out of her comfort zone and see where the journey takes her. The single mother of a little girl is confident that she can achieve anything she sets her mind to.

“All the ups and downs, and where I come from don’t matter because they shaped me into the woman I am today. I’m focused on getting up stronger and being positive every day,” said Bam.

Mrs Curve’ South Africa is open to all South African women between 25 and 55, whether they are married, divorced, or separated. To promote body positivity and self-confidence, Mrs Curve’ South Africa celebrates the beauty, strength, and confidence of curvy women. While most pageants forbid it, entrants with tattoos are also allowed.

Bam, who is a hairdresser, said her focus has been on her daughter and growing her business. She had never entered any pageant before and since the competition started, she has done two days of modelling in the pageant and one judging.

“I want to show my daughter and other women that there’s beauty in every journey that we take and that you are worthy of everything. Always believe in yourself because we are all unique in our own way,” she said.

Bam’s favourite pastimes include relaxing at home, reading and watching videos about new trends in hair, and watching series.

“My ultimate favourite thing to do is taking road trips and tasting coffee along the way,” she said excitedly.

If she wins the title, Bam said she would work to create more body positivity and inspire people to show themselves unconditional love.

The Mrs Curve’ South Africa winner will be crowned in October on the yet-to-be-confirmed date and venue. The winner will represent the country at the Mrs Curve’ Globe pageant in California, USA in June 2026.
