Amanzimtoti CPF empowers community

The Amanzimtoti CPF has been on top of its game during the past month, going above and beyond to educate, uplift and empower the community.

THE Amanzimtoti Community Policing Forum (ACPF) descended on iCare Child and Youth Care Centre in Lower Illovo for an empowerment session with its Social Crime Prevention team on July 21.

ACPF spokesperson Estelle van Eeden said topics covered included crime and making positive choices when in conflict with the law, bullying, and personal safety.

The teams then ventured to Mother of Peace, an NPO, to carry out an informative safety workshop. At another Lower Illovo NPO, the Institute of Afrikology, the young boys there received wisdom from positive role models about their journeys as young men.

“We engaged with the youngsters about the dangers of bullying and strategies to build kinder and safer communities for everyone,” said Van Eeden.
