More about SAAFA

SAAFA is a military veterans association for any member who has served or is still serving in the SA Air Force.

It was established on January 26, 1945, and served to assist demobilised airmen following World War II, in addition to widows and orphans or deceased airmen, and to promote camaraderie among serving and ex-members of the air force.

The SAAFA Durban branch is one of the oldest branches in the country, and is still active with some 65 members. Monthly events are held and consist of either a lunch or a breakfast. These events are generally held at Air Force Base Durban, which is still situated at the old Durban International Airport, or the Royal Natal Club in the Durban harbour.

Any other organisation is welcome to join SAAFA, and to come and experience the association’s camaraderie.
