Isipingo community mourns CPF member

The greater Isipingo community mourns the loss of a dedicated community policing forum member who died due to illness at the age of 50.

THE LOTUS Park community is mourning the death of Dino Gounder, 50, on January 8. Gounder’s health took a turn for the worse due to an illness.

He was a well-respected and committed member of the Lotus Park Community Policing Forum (CPF), whose dedication left an indelible mark on the area. He was widely known for his unwavering commitment to community safety, unity, and upliftment.

He was a contracts manager in the building division of Enza Construction for the past 15 years.

“His presence was one of calm leadership, reliability, and genuine concern for the well-being of others. Those who knew Dino describe him as selfless, approachable, and deeply passionate about making a difference. He was always willing to step forward, offer guidance, and lend a helping hand whenever the community called upon him. His contributions went beyond meetings and patrols. He played a meaningful role in fostering trust, co-operation, and mutual respect among residents,” said Sholeen Brijmohan of the Isipingo Community Policing Women’s Sub-Forum.

The Lotus Park CPF expressed profound sadness at his passing, acknowledging that the community has lost a pillar of strength and service.

“Dino’s legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the positive change he helped bring about,” concluded Brijmohan.
