Warner Beach’s neighbourhood watch welcomes new committee

Warner Beach South Neighbourhood Watch welcomed a fresh-faced committee, dedicated to keeping the community safe.

WARNER Beach South Neighbourhood Watch (WBSNW) held its AGM on January 24 at the Winklespruit Lifesaving Club.

The local community attended in droves, showing the neighbourhood’s commitment to safety, security and peace of mind.

Public relations officer Karin MacRae extended sincere thanks to community members who took the time to attend and show their support.

Rich history

WBSNW was established in 2018 by Craig Upton and Norman Lavery, who were elected as chairman and vice chairman respectively, with Upton serving as vice chairman thereafter.

“Over the past eight years, the neighbourhood watch has grown significantly thanks to the dedication and hard work of many individuals, including Tony Lokker from ET Security and Paul O’Neil from the CCPO. It was with a heavy heart that WBSNW bid farewell to Craig Upton, who has relocated to another area within Amanzimtoti. We thank him sincerely for his years of commitment and service to the community,” said MacRae.

WBSNW also took the opportunity to thank and recognise members for their dedication and ongoing commitment, namely, Lokker, Paul O’Neil and MacRae.

“WBSNW encourages all residents of Warner Beach and Winklespruit to get involved by joining either the patrol team or the camera team. Community involvement remains vital to keeping our area safe. Crime doesn’t take a break, neither can we,” said MacRae.

WBSNW is in urgent need of volunteers for the patrol and camera teams. Contact WBSNW through Julian on 073 069 9973, Karin on 072 103 8885 or Di on 082 787 1547.
