The set-subject for the month was “high-key” or “low-key” photography. The latter refers to a style of photography that emphasises darkness and shadows, while the former often has few shadows. High-key photographs often set subjects against very bright backgrounds.

The best set-subject was Helena du Plessis’ “Bishop in High-key”. The best senior photograph was Leanne Troskie’s impressive capture of a pair of eagles sparring, while her son, CJ Troskie’s Brown-Hooded Kingfisher photograph earned him the best junior photograph.

Club chairperson Wynand Grobler applauded members for their stunning photography and thanked judge Emanuel Maria for keeping things unbiased and objective.
