Heather Liebenberg, chairperson of the non-profit organisation, said the computer courses will be headed by child and youth manager, Wandile Nxumalo and Mondli Makhaye who has stepped up to the facilitator role of the Abaholi Bakusasa youth programme. Both were trained in IT and programming. The NPO is also investigating the possibility of offering a coding and robotics pilot later this year.

“Mondli has stepped up to the task with a lot of great ideas. He is supported by Zinhle Gasa, who is familiar with our youth programme as well as our social work programme. Our volunteer, Lwandle Ngcobo, who did a fantastic job of facilitating the youth programme, is leading by example and studying full-time this year,” said Liebenberg.

She added that youth are one of Africa’s most valuable resources, greater than gold and diamonds.

“The energy, sincerity, faith and passion of this generation is incredible. They are resourceful, wanting to learn, tech-savvy and positioned to be used by God in ways no other generation has been yet,” she said.
