Operation Bobbi Bear assists children who have been sexually abused, helping rescue, protect, counsel and support them.

MEMBERS of the Women’s Institute (WI) held their monthly meeting at the Amanzimtoti Golf Club on August 11 with the aim of honouring women who make a difference in the community.

WI president Belinda Thole said this was done in the spirit of Women’s Month, which is observed every August in South Africa.

“This year we recognised the work done by Eureka Olivier and her team at Operation Bobbi Bear,” said Thole.

Olivier was presented with a certificate, after which she gave a presentation on the work done by Bobbi Bear. The women from the WI also donated some pantry items for use at the Bobbi Bear house.

Based in Doon Heights, Operation Bobbi Bear assists children who have been sexually abused, helping rescue, protect, counsel and support them while also helping the justice system pursue the alleged perpetrators.
