Sannie shines with silver at World Transplant Games
RWFL urges the public to join in the health and mental benefits of training in groups.

RUN Walk for Life notes the success of member Sannie Liebenberg at the World Transplant Games last week.
At the start of women’s month, Sannie stood at the start line at 7.30am on Friday morning. She went on to earn a well-deserved silver medal at the games in the 3,000m power walk.
Her success shows that if the mind and heart are willing, the body has no choice but to follow, no matter what your illness. Sannie is setting an example for others to follow their dreams, and the club is proud of her. Well done.
On Saturday morning the women stood on the start line for the 5km Pink Drive (breast cancer) walk. This was not about time but about the thought and effort. The club is proud of those who participated.
On Sunday some members took on the Merewent 10km and all finished in good time.
Money raised for Faron Mae at the Longest Day was R5,210, which was handed over on Thursday. The team is currently training for the Mandela Marathon on 24 August, and after that, the Hundred Miler on 20 September. Support this team by sponsoring or pledging money towards their cause. Faron-Mae Fisher has Glycogen Storage Disease (GSD) Type 0 (aglycogenosis) and the athletes’ kilometres can be sponsored individually or by way of a one-off donation. For infomation on how to pledge and pay, call Debbie Ellish on 084-402-5800 or Jan Botha on 082-290-4005.
