RWFL lauds top runners, walkers
During the week the weather has been playing up again.
RUN Walk For Life (RWFL) showed its appreciation on Saturday, 23 November at the annual prize-giving and year-end function.
The weather was great and the new venue at at Umbogavango Nature Reserve was well received by members.
What a beautiful setting. RWFL thanks AECI and Lynda Thurman for taking members on a nature walk.
Family of the year are the Hall family, supporter of the year is Matthys Nawrattel, walker of the year is Antoinette Russouw, runner of the year is Shaun Finn.
RWFL thanks them for their efforts. To the rest of the members, thank you for a great year.
On Sunday, RWFL members showed they not only run but they took part in the annual toy run, where members of the public from all over KZN get together at Hutchison Park to collect toys for underprivileged children. Thank you to members who showed their soft side.
During the week, the weather has been playing up again, depriving the athletes of proper training time, but Saturday morning’s run was well supported. The numbers are growing, with members from other clubs also joining in. All fitness junkies and runners are welcome to join in.
It is that time of the year when all athletes need to budget for the 2014 license renewal. While ASA has increased its licence fees, RWFL will not and will actually decrease fees.
Members will pay only R120 to belong to the club, which includes an ASA number. The rest will pay R250, the same as this year, which also includes the ASA licence number.
We appreciate the support from various clubs/Athletes/walkers that support Run Walk for Life walk/runs. For your own safety please wear bright coloured clothing as well as reflective wear in order for the motorists to be able to see you.
