Scorgie and team win the turkeys

If any men can play their pairs games during the week, do so.

IN the Amanzimtoti Bowling Club’s women’s 2-4-2, the joint winners who tied on a count-out were Barbara Beamson and Heather Brown; and Jane Coetzee and Denise Bingham.

The second session was won by Stella Erasmus and Bernie Bretherton. Joan van Rensburg won the 100 board.

Hennie van der Poel won the men’s scroungers, with Lofty van Tonder in second place. In third place was Owen Turner.

Alan McGregor won plate A and Trevor Dempsey, plate B.

At TGIF, Boet won the meat, while Neville Roscoe and Alan McGregor took home the wine. N Harris social member number 48, whose number came up in the attendance draw, was not present, so next week’s prize stands at R250.

Saturday’s inclement weather postponed both the women’s turkey and the men’s nominated pairs until Saturday, 14 December morning and afternoon respectively.

If any men can play their pairs games during the week, do so.

Fortunately the men’s turkey went ahead on Sunday. The winners were Glen Scorgie, Brad Cox and Koos Potgieter. The runners-up were Jerry Gertzen, Adie Fuller, Andrew Pearce and Jimmy During; and Lofty van Tonder, Hennie van der Poel, Ken Leech and Mickey Roche won the second session. Pete Shepard was the lucky winner of the 100 board as well as the whisky raffle, and Mike Roberts won the turkey raffle.

Many happy returns go this week to Jock Meldrum, Jerry Gertzen, Barry Buckland, Jannie Matthee, Clive Hambley, Lys McDonald, Ian Crouch and Tom Anderson. Get well wishes to all members who are sick at the moment.
