WELL done to all Toti Atletes who qualified for Comrades 2014.

The club attended the PMB marathon in force last Sunday and over 30 marathon athletes qualified. The first male runner home was Jabulani Shishani and the first woman home was Suzette Linden.
Toti AC’s runners’ results for the marathon: 2.56.02 Jabulani Shishani, 3.06.00 Mbongeni Mkhize, 3.15.18 Steven Yelseth, 3.25.58 Shabeer Razak, 3.29.10 Thembisa Ndlovu, 3.41.14 Sifiso Ngongoma, 3.54.03 Thobani Mntungwa, 3.54.05 Suzette Linden, 3.56.59 Sizwe Khomo, 4.01.29 Steven Msomi, 4.07.29 Gary Dann, 4.07.42 Raymond Hair, 4.08.24 Thokozani Msilela, 4.39.24 Ralph Schubach, 4.16.54 Lisa Ferreira, 4.28.27 Ockert Botha, 4.34.47 Thobekile Zama, 4.39.43 Bevan Carr, 4.39.43 Shaun Carr, 4.44.55 Marco Coetsee, 4.44.56 Charles Panaino, 4.44.56 Tyron Castle, 4.50.21 Julie Yelseth, 4.54.03 Marthinus Kemp, 4.57.06 Charles Botha, 4.57.40 Mel Greyling, 4.57.49 Lauren-Jane Kendrick.
The cross-country calendar kicks off with the Parlauf Westville on Friday, 7 March. We encourage all Toti AC members to participate in this year’s cross-country. It’s a great way to work on endurance and speed. There are leagues with the Toti AC hosting the KZN Champs on 23 August.
Toti AC athletes put in some good performances at Friday night’s KZNA track and  field event at Kings Park in Durban.
The highlight from the club’s perspective is the gutsy performances by Lisha van Onselen (youth women) and Hlengiwe Zuma (youth women), who both ran qualifying times in the 3,000m for the 2014 ASA national championships to be held in April.
Lisha clocked a time of 10.35.90 and Hlengiwe finished in a time of 10.44.57.
Not to be outdone, Lee-Anne Blake (sub-youth women) ran another superb race by winning the sub-youth 800m race in a time of 2.18.19 and confirmed her position as one of the top middle distance runners in KZN. Dwayne Trollip (men youth) ran a brilliant 400m race, holding off a very strong field to win the event in 50.97 seconds. This performance puts him just outside ASA qualification standards, which he should get sooner rather than later.
Other results include Ewoud Grobler finishing strong in the 10,000m with a good time of  34.34.58. He was closely followed by Xolani Nocanda in 34.56.23. Cornel van Antwerp (men 65) finished the 3,000m walk in 20.56.24, Terrance Koornhof ran the 400m hurdles in 60.34 and Riaan Vosloo (masters 35) finished in 62.69.
Jade Blake (junior women) finished the 800m in a time of 2.33.69. Mukelani Khuzwayo (junior men) did his 3,000m in 9.20.22 and Lynne Blake (senior women) her 400m in 71.21.
