All are members of the Amanzimtoti Athletics Club, except Kelly, a former member who now studies at and runs for DUT, while continuing to train at the club.

The club’s resurrection of its junior athletics programme started in 2010 with Kelly, and has grown in leaps and bounds.

They were all selected to compete for KZN at the South African Secondary Schools in Polokwane and Junior Athletics Championships in Stellenbosch, where they excelled over the last weekends, either running new personal best times or getting top six positions.

Lee-anne achieved a fourth place in the Under 15 Girls 800m in Polokwane despite still being Under 13, and Anele won a silwer medal with her KZN team mates in the Girls Under 15 Medley Relay in Stellenbosch.
