ONCE again Winklespruit Bowling Club men’s league team did well this weekend, when they played away against Parkhill Bowling Club.

They won one game 35-18 but lost the other, however they again won the bonus point which puts them first in their division.

Well done everyone.

Last Wednesday in the mixed nominated pairs 2-4-2, Sonny Brunsdon and Gladys Yelland defeated Alan Raubenheimer and Trish Farmer. In the men’s senior singles round 1, Brian Bodley had a comfortable win against Mac Appleby.

In the monthly women’s Victory Kwik Spar trips competition, Elaine Critchlow, Norma Raath and Margaret van Belkum took the overall prize, while Pamela CR, Jeanette Els and Sue Welch claimed second session.

The first session prize went to Estelle van der Merwe, Gladys Yelland and Elmarie Young.

The spider was won by Brian Farmer, held in aid of Cansa. The mystery prize went to Maggie Cormack and the 100 board winnings to the Umkomaas women. Note that next month’s women’s Victory Kwik Spar trips competition will not take place on 1 May as it is a public holiday.

The attendance draw was not won on Friday as the member with number 37 was not present.

On Sunday, 13 April it’s the Lincoln Steakhouse monthly mixed 2-4-2 starting at 9am. Check the notice board for teams, and advise Mac Appleby on 083-652-2207 if you’re unavailable to play.

Remember that social bowls tabs in are now at 1.45pm to start at 2pm, in line with winter times.

Birthday wishes are sent to Susan, Jonty and Tommy – enjoy your days.
