Moulin Rouge A claims victory against Warnadoone D

Reef B and Silver Dollar A played two even rounds.

SAPPHIRE Coast Pool league results for Wednesday, 24 September:

Warnadoone D lost the first round to Moulin Rouge A. By the end of the second round a Moulin Rouge player dropped the black ball in mid game securing a tie for the teams. Moulin Rouge A left no room for mistakes and scored a clean third round. Warnadoone D faltered once more: the loss of the first game in the fourth round put Moulin Rouge A two points ahead. Moulin Rouge A’s Mark Macfarlane, and Chris Kennedy, each took three of their four games. A split in the doubles score left Warnadoone D trailing by only two sad points and a jubilant Moulin Rouge A with locked 10-8 victory.

Reef B and Silver Dollar A played two even rounds. Silver Dollar A took the next three games in the third round and three games in the fourth. Silver Dollar A’s Nico Davies took a grand full house, and team mate Deon Pool and Reef B’s Prasheen Chandermum each took three of their four games. Taking both doubles games, Silver Dollar A scored a convincing 12-6 victory.

Ollies C only relinquished a single point in each round to Moulin Rouge D. Ollies C’s Buhle Maseko took a fantastic full house and team mates Njabulo Qiya and Thoban Shezi took three of their four games. Keeping on the pressure, Ollies C wrapped up their conquest taking both doubles games and scoring a triumphant 14-4 victory.

Although they put every ounce of energy into the match, Kingsburgh Sports was no match for Ollies B as their first point was only scored in the eighth game. Ollies C surrendered one point in the third round and two in the fourth. Ollies C’s Adrian Ramalingan took a fine full house and team mates Levin Poonan and Ashlin Pillay each took three of their four games. Kingsburgh Sports managed another point in the doubles, but victory went to Ollies B who took an easy 13-5 victory.

Although an even score in the first round between Warnadoone C and Reef C panned out, Reef C only allowed a single point in the next two rounds and scored an even fourth round. Predesh Debipersadh took an impressive full house with Warnadoone C’s Kobus van Zyl took three of his four games. A split in the doubles scores left Reef C with a comfortable 11-7 victory.

Warnadoone A took the first round against Sapphire Cove B, split the second round’s score and grabbed a clear third round, and lost the fourth. Warnadoone A’s Sheldon Birk, Tiaan Lombard and Sapphire Cove B’s Robbie Willemse each took three of their four games. A split in the doubles games added to the winnings of Warnadoone A scoring a proud 11-7 victory.
