Rob and Gert ace fourth round of men’s drawn pairs at Winkle Bowling Club

Winners of the Winkle Bowling Club (WBC) men’s nominated pairs third round were Jeff van Belkum and Barrie De Wee who defeated Alan Raubenheimer and Jimmy Ronald.
The men’s drawn pairs fourth round was won by Rob Troughton and Gert Richter who competed against Coy Schrauwen and Alan Baxter. The women’s nominated pairs 2-4-2 winners were Estelle van der Merwe and Elaine Critchlow who defeated Maureen Warrior and Shirley de Wee.
Members are reminded to enter their teams on the list for the men and women’s nominated trips, nominated mixed pairs and nominated mixed 2-4-2. The list is up on the board. In the men’s Clearwater Spur 2-4-2 played on Thursday, 23 May, the winners were Barrie de Wee and Jeff van Belkum. Session winners were Dave Kemp and Eric Morsner. The 100 board was won by Keith Holmes.
The Winkle men’s games will be played on Thursday, 30 May, and Thursday, 13 June, at 8.30am for 9am, contact Barrie De Wee for further information. The women’s Winkle trips will be played on Thursday, 6 June, at 8.30am for 9am, contact Lou Bingham for further information.
Well done to the women’s inter-club league team who won both their games on Saturday, 25 May played at home. Unfortunately both men’s teams lost their games. On Saturday, 1 June the women’s league team will play at Umhlali against Durban Collegians B. The men’s fifth division will play LA Domaine at home and the sixth division will play Durban Collegians away. Social bowls was well attended and Friday evening’s meal was thoroughly enjoyed by all, thanks to Trish Farmer for the lovely meal.

Social bowls is on Wednesdays and Fridays at 1.30pm for 2pm.
