Blackball pool players receive Silver at national championships
Theo Moodley was not only selected as a player but also as a manager for the KZN Masters 1 and Seniors 3 teams. His dream is to represent South Africa internationally by earning Protea Colours.

THEO Moodley, along with his team, received second place in this year’s South African Blackball Nationals Pool Championships that were recently held in Durban.
The Ballers Amanzimtoti member was not only selected as a player but also as the manager for the KZN Masters 1 and Seniors 3 teams, showcasing his leadership and expertise in the game.

The championships, which were held over a period of three weeks, saw some of the best cueists in the country competing to be crowned champs. The KwaZulu-Natal Masters team consisted of Moodley, Raja Naidoo, Mervin Akaloo, Eugene Naidoo, Ravi Kistensamy and Siphiwe Msimango.
“It was an honour and privilege to be part of such a great team with legendary players, which provided great leadership skills,” said Moodley, adding that the event was a true success.
For him, pool is more than just a game – it is his ‘happy place’ where he can fully immerse himself. Ultimately, his dream is to represent South Africa internationally by earning Protea Colours.
He gave thanks to Vincent Pillay, president of Blackball South Africa, and his team for providing a great venue with state-of-the-art pool tables; his sponsors, MKT Safety Suppliers and Property Renovations, Rennies Panelbeaters, and High Society and his family for the support; Sasha Naidoo of KZN Blackball for a successful tournament and for pushing him to reach higher levels; Sammar Logistics, and Devesh Singh and family who provided meals on a daily basis as well as the SUN for capturing his story.
