The platform, with a round-robin format, allows all to showcase their skills and to test themselves against the best and claim the gold.

Bushido MMA Gym’s juniors and adults brought home three gold and three silver medals.

Coach Greg Thomas said, “All our athletes had some tough matches; some of them being against our own team, but all displayed immense skill and heart. Keep on showing up on the mats.”

In a statement by Ground Quest, it said there was an unbelievable turnout with over 120 entries on the day.

“Emotions ran high, celebrations were loud, first time nerves have been conquered, and the display of skill and technique was incredible to witness. Thank you once again to every athlete, coach, and team mate for countless hours on the mats. Also family and friends that came through and supported the athletes.”

Thomas added that he had athletes lined up for the much-anticipated MFC in Greyville on December 8, marking the last MMA event of the year.
