Carmen Conci, aboard her Honda CBR150, entered the event with momentum built from weeks of focused practise. Determined to close the gap on the front-runners, she clung onto the leaders in heats one and two, but missed out on a podium by mere seconds. In heat three, however, Conci nailed the holeshot and led the pack into turn one. But drama unfolded soon after as she collided with her sister, Anja Conci, while defending her racing line. The incident sent Carmen tumbling out of contention for the rest of the day.
Despite the early exit, Carmen secured fourth overall and second in the Super Production class, a solid performance considering the crash.
Racing for the first time on a Honda CBR150 after moving on from her trusty Yamaha YZ85, Anja smashed expectations. She carved five seconds off her personal best lap time and charged through all three heats with fierce determination. Even after the contact with Carmen, Anja held her line and powered forward to claim second overall and second in class, showcasing her resilience and racecraft in a pressure-filled environment.
The third Helluvafast member, Jesse Conci, behind the wheel of his Lotus Seven, lined up in a competitive sports cars field where high track temperatures and no breeze made for difficult conditions. Many racers faced overheating issues, but a solution of stuffing ice into the cooling grids kept Jesse in the game. Finding a rhythm with the track, he clocked his best lap times yet and crossed the finish line fourth overall and third in the sports cars class.
