Head coach Ruan Engelbrecht said that after a successful round of trials held late last year, the club can now proudly announce it has selected 14 players for its A side and 16 for its senior B side.

“We have set ambitious targets for this debut season, with a primary goal for both squads to finish in the top three of their respective divisions. The A Side is particularly well-equipped for this challenge, boasting a roster of experienced athletes including several who competed in the Telkom Netball League last year. Their high-level experience will be vital in navigating the intensity of the league,” said Engelbrecht.

Three of the club’s players were selected to play for the eThekwini District team, namely Tanna De Freitas, Katelynn van der Westerhuizen and Luzanri Buys.

He explained that preparation is well underway to make sure the club’s lofty goals are met. Coaching staff have implemented a rigorous pre-season programme to ensure athletes are physically and tactically prepared. While Engelbrecht himself handles strength and conditioning, coach Riaan Vosloo works on the athletes’ speed and agility, while coach Malusi Maphumulo tackles court work and structures.
