Over 100 athletes battled it out to determine which fighters will represent the province.

The trials were held to select athletes for the SAKA Nationals, scheduled for April 24-28 in Oudtshoorn.

Seema explained that the morning session featured the Tatami events, which included the disciplines Light Contact, Point Fighting, and Kick Light. The afternoon session moved to the Ring Events, showcasing Full Contact, K1, and Low Kick divisions.

“The tournament was a great success, with competitors as young as seven-years-old demonstrating exceptional skill, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the day,” said Seema.
