Langa was matched up against Hennie Engelbrecht, and he gave it his all, losing 8-10 after playing a third set to break a tie. The athlete, who is home-schooled, said he has been playing tennis since he was six years old. He added he enjoys playing against adults because it further sharpens his skills.

“The match against Hennie was tough, but I managed to hold my own through the sets. I hope my game improves even better than it currently is,” said Langa.

Hennie applauded Langa’s talent, saying the match was very competitive.

“This young man is really talented. He is showing great skill, and if he keeps to it, he will move on to amazing things,” said Hennie.

Langa’s coach Mike Ngoma expressed pride in his student.

“His game is very strong, and he is very dedicated. He might only be 14-years-old, but he plays much better than many children his age,” said Ngoma.
