Affectionately known as “The Pocket Rocket,” Peyton’s karate journey began at the age of five. Now, at 10 years old, she has achieved what many athletes spend a lifetime chasing. She has proudly earned her JKA KZN colours four consecutive times, representing KZN at the championships every year since qualifying.
Her grandfather, Russell Andraos said that her medal tally speaks volumes about her dedication and talent, accumulating an outstanding 15 gold medals and two silver medals during her karate career.
“Peyton remains undefeated in her age and belt division, reflecting her skill, discipline, focus and determination. In another major milestone, Peyton recently qualified to compete at this year’s Indo Pacific Cup in Mauritius. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, she will not be able to attend the international event, a disappointing setback for our young athlete. My heart swells with pride every single time she steps onto the mat. We are incredibly proud of our little pocket rocket,” said Russell.
