Booysens successful arrests

BOOYSENS – From January 21 to 26 the Booysens Police made a total of 46 arrests.

These arrests include 16 for possession of drugs and five for possession of stolen property.

Dagga possession in Robertsham

On Wednesday January 22, members of the Booysens SAPS went on duty at 18:00 and were posted in Sector One. While driving in the area they noticed an unknown male sitting under a tree rolling a ‘cigarette’. When the person saw the police vehicle, he threw the ‘cigarette’ onto the ground. They introduced themselves as police officers. One member searched the suspect and found one small plastic bag containing dagga inside his pants’ pocket. The suspect was arrested and detained at Booysens Police Station.

Trespassing in Nasec

On Wednesday January 22, a complainant who is a security guard was patrolling the premises where he works with a colleague when they noticed a person standing behind one of the buildings. When the man saw them, he started to run. The complainant gave chase and when the suspect tried to jump the razor fence, he cut himself allowing the complainant to catch him. Booysens SAPS where contacted and the suspect was placed under arrest for trespassing.

Possession of stolen property in Crown Gardens

On Thursday January 23, the member of Booysens SAPS went on duty and was patrolling in Sector One, when he and his crew received a complaint of cable theft in the Crown Gardens area. When they reached the address they found copper cable had been stolen. The members patrolled the area and saw two unknown males carrying what looked like cable. The members questioned the suspects and were able to trace more cable that had been stolen. The suspects were arrested and taken to Booysens Police Station for further investigations.
