THANKS to the dedicated staff and hardworking pupils, Bluff Christian Academy notched up an eThekwini mayoral award of excellence for achieving a 100% matric pass in 2015.
The ceremony was held at the ICC on 29 January. This is the school’s 5th year with a 100% matric pass rate.
Principal, Cheryl Ross said it was a team effort between teachers, pupils and parents who have dedicated their time to work closely with each other. “I am very proud of the pupils who have worked hard. Our grade 12s also attended our intervention programme which offered extra classes in order to help prepare them for the National Senior Certificate (NSC),” said Ross.
Living up to the motto ‘educating for eternity’, the school aims to help every pupil find their God-given purpose through immense support and prayer. “Being a Christian school, prayer plays a vital role and we encourage the parents to join us in prayer for the children and to support them and their dreams,” she added.
She urges grade 10 and 11 pupils to start working now in preparation for matric. “It’s never too late to start but start now. Don’t give up, there is always someone to help you. For those who struggle, there are programmes in place to help you through your matric year. Don’t feel you are here to do it alone,” she advised.
Matric teachers, S Tobias, CC Naidoo, D Chiriga, D Jacobs and J Reddy were all thanked by the principal for their team-effort . “I’m just a principal and none of this would be possible without my dream team,” said Ross.
The teachers expressed their extreme happiness with the 2015 matrics and wishes the 2016 matrics a successful and fulfilling year.
