Storm damage to Bluff’s Chipstead Avenue repaired
An amount of R800,000 has been budgeted to repair damage
REPAIRS to the October 2017 storm damaged Chipstead Avenue on the Bluff have been completed.
According to ward 66 councillor JP Prinsloo, new retaining walls and a stormwater system were installed to prevent a recurrence of similar damage in the future.
“The project was overseen by local community liaison officer (CLO), Charles Mourdi. We thank Charles and the local labourers for their hard work on this site,” he said.

Work will now commence in other areas around the Bluff which were affected by the storm. Repairs to Stableford Road have also begun, after it suffered damage to an embankment and staircase during the storm. “An amount of R800,000 has been budgeted to repair damage caused during the storm,” he added. “Local labour teams and a CLO have been deployed from my office to oversee the projects and ensure these projects remain on track. The CLO will provide my office with weekly updates to resolve any challenges experienced.”
